Also known as Resorts World Genting, the resort boasts 7 hotels ranging from budget to 5-star, an epic shopping mall home to many international retailers, the Genting Casino, the scenic Awana Skyway cable car ride, Skytropolis indoor theme park, Chin Swee Temple, and an endless array of food that’s going to make you drool every corner you turn.
Genting Highlands is located in Pahang Malaysia, a 1-hour drive north of Kuala Lumpur. The best way to get to the resort from Kuala Lumpur to Genting is via Grab, getting off at Awana Station and then you’ll have to jump on the cable car to get to the top.
Our favourite experience was catching the glass bottom Genting Highlands cable car to Chin Swee Caves Temple and the Premium Outlets. Guys, the views are phenomenal and the Chinese Temple will take your breath away.
We couldn’t tear our kids away from the indoor Genting theme park – Skytropolis. The 400,000 square feet fun park features exhilarating rollercoaster rides, carousels, drop towers, bumper cars, swaying pirate ships, and many more. The Genting outdoor theme park is still under construction but will open its doors in 2020, and we can’t wait to see the result.
We stayed in the Genting Highlands hotel – Theme Park Hotel. Accommodating up to 6 persons in one room, this is the best place to stay for families to explore Resorts World Genting.
Without a doubt, this was one of our favourite things to do in Kuala Lumpur – the resort is an eclectic mix of mountains, nature and man-made wonders. The best thing? Temperatures are much cooler than the rest of Malaysia – say goodbye to humidity and sticky sweat.
